Glimpses of Inner Worlds

Portraits of virtual beings have been at the heart of my creative practice for more than two decades. Lately, I have been using portraiture as a starting point to explore mutation: what can emerge from an image, and how one form can give rise to another.

For this project, I began with a portrait already composed of mutations and interwoven textile textures, then used Adobe Firefly and Nano Banana 2 to generate a series of still-image transformations exploring the inner worlds of this character. I let the portrait open, multiply and transform, revealing architectures, tiny figures and living creatures contained within it.

I then used Seedance 2.5 in Frames mode through Adobe Firefly to animate the transitions between these still images and connect them into a continuous sequence, before bringing everything into Premiere Pro to explore rhythm through editing.

Finally, I returned to Firefly Generate Sound Effects to build the soundscape and give these transformations their own sonic presence.

I love using Firefly as a space where an image can become the beginning of an evolving visual narrative.
