Progress isn’t always about never falling off. Sometimes it’s about how quickly you come back.

You miss the workout.

Break the routine.

Lose momentum on the project.

Have a rough week and stop doing the things you said you were going to do.

It happens.

The mistake is believing that one interruption has to become a permanent derailment.

Maybe last time it took you two weeks to get moving again.

This time, make it one week.

Then three days.

Then three hours.

Eventually, maybe you catch yourself in the moment and choose differently.

That shrinking recovery time is progress, too.

Because consistency doesn’t have to mean performing perfectly forever.

It can mean becoming better at returning.

Returning to the habit.

Returning to the commitment.

Returning to the person you’re trying to become.

And every time you practice coming back, you’re building evidence that a setback doesn’t have to decide what happens next.

Don’t just measure how often you get off track. Pay attention to how much better you’re getting at finding your way back.
