#ParisFashionWeek, day six: From the thrill at #Celine to the #Alaïa presentation, swipe for all of the key moments.

JunyaWatanabe’s ‘Funky’ show jolted showgoers awake, with Chaka Khan’s ‘Like Sugar’. Bodysuits from Japanese brand CW-X formed the basis for impressive body jewellery, headpieces and wearable art. Ciara made a cameo, walking three times to whoops from the audience.

NoirKeiNinomiya’s show featured his typical intricate, architectural silhouettes, but also some more wearable tailoring and pinafores, crafted from leather. Some of the gowns included real flowers, which the designer sees as “powerful armors of peace”.

#MichaelRider’s spring collection for Celine resists being summed up in a single phrase — and that’s an integral part of the beauty and the thrill of what he’s been building up in just over a year in the job.

At Hermes, Nadège Vanhée explored how air can move through clothes to keep the wearer cool — a fitting theme after a summer of European heatwaves.

MaisonAlaïa has yet to appoint a creative director following the departure of Pieter Mulier. In the meantime, the collection designed by the studio was presented in the format of intimate presentations at the former Fondation Cartier.

At CommedesGarcons, #ReiKawakubo named the collection “When royal life and real life become one.” Models wore padded cotton and wired crowns, with bulbous looks in denim, stripes or polka dots, with pieces cut away to reveal red flowers that resembled exposed flesh and blood.
