Sometimes you meet a young player and see potential.

Sometimes you meet one and see something much bigger.

I remember the date.

February 25th, 2023.

The first time I met Wellingthon Barros.

I didn’t know exactly where this journey would take him. I didn’t know what schools he would play for, what obstacles would come, or how far basketball would eventually take him.

But I knew one thing.

I was looking at greatness.

You could feel it.

And yes, greatness is part of his DNA.

His mother is handball royalty in Africa. His father has his own legacy in basketball.

Those are big footsteps to follow.

But somewhere along the way, Wellingthon made a decision:

He wasn’t going to follow them.

He was going to create his own.

His OWN path.
His OWN story.
His OWN legacy.

He decided to be WELLINGTHON.

Three years later, I’m watching that young kid become the player—and more importantly, the young man—I believed he could become.

And the crazy part?

We’re still only watching the beginning.

Keep writing your story, Welly. 🖤

TRUE AT ALL TIMES. 💯
