Congratulations to Hannah Hammond, our spring 2026 Middle East Studies major marshal! 🎓🎉

Hannah is the daughter of Hallie and John Craig Hammond of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is graduating with bachelor of arts degrees in Middle East studies and International Politics, minors in History and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and a Diversity Studies certificate.

A Paterno Fellow and Schreyer Scholar, Hannah studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France, where she explored international humanitarian law and global migration, and worked as an education abroad adviser. She also volunteered with a refugee resettlement agency in its immigrant and youth services departments, including mentoring a young girl to help prepare her for kindergarten. She said these experiences gave her a deeper understanding of the challenges refugees face when resettling.

After graduation, she plans to work in international humanitarian aid and continue her studies in international affairs.
