I told you what happens in a caesarean. Seven layers. Now let me tell you what happens in a vaginal birth. Because natural has never meant gentle.
A cervix sealed like a fist for nine months forced open to ten centimetres. A uterus contracting every two to three minutes for hours, starving its own muscle of oxygen every time it works. A pelvic floor stretched to three times its resting length, which no other muscle in the human body can do, and which in one in ten women tears off the bone and is never diagnosed. Eighty percent of first time mothers tear. One in twenty into the muscle that controls the bowel. Then she is stitched layer by layer while holding her baby. Then the uterus rips the placenta off its own wall and has to clamp down on a wound the size of a dinner plate or she bleeds to death in minutes. Then she bleeds for six weeks. And one in three women leak for the rest of their lives.
And someone will say, at least you did not need surgery.
