Spring Training didn’t just bring baseball fans to Arizona this year. It brought record money into the state.

The 2026 Cactus League season generated $806.9 million in total economic impact, the highest ever measured since researchers began tracking Spring Training’s financial effect more than 20 years ago. It also added $495.8 million to Arizona’s GDP, another all-time record.

More than 1.75 million fans attended 237 games this season, averaging about 7,400 people per game. Attendance has now increased for five straight seasons.

A huge part of that money came from people traveling here. Out-of-state visitors spent about $374 million on hotels, food, drinks, shopping, transportation and entertainment while they were in Arizona. Six out of every 10 Cactus League fans came from outside the state.

Spring Training also supported about 5,500 jobs and generated nearly $44 million in taxes for Arizona, Maricopa County and local governments.

For perspective, one ASU researcher said Spring Training generated roughly 40% of the Grand Canyon’s annual tourism impact in only about four weeks.

Do you think people realize how much money Spring Training actually brings into Arizona every year? ⚾
