## Caption

Honoring the legacy of Azra Begić (1931–2017) for the opening of «The Persistence of Presence» in Sarajevo. As one of Bosnia’s most influential art critics, senior curators, and cultural guardians - who famously remained in the city during the siege to save Ferdinand Hodler’s priceless masterpieces - her fierce dedication to art continues to echo through these walls.
Begić spent nearly four decades at the National Gallery, elevating the history of local artists and proving that art is worth protecting at all costs. She taught us that presence isn’t just about being in a room; it’s about the indelible mark we leave behind.

«The Persistence of Presence» is officially open!
