THIS is the outfit formula I swear by when I want to look put-together without feeling overdressed: Jeans + white tee + a great third layer. 

The third layer is what does all the work. A suede jacket from @walmart adds texture and richness while the blazer makes the basics feel polished and preppy. 

Oh and this chunky camel knit gives you that effortless, elevated feel. 

Same base. Three completely different outfits. And no overthinking required. 

This is one of my favorite tricks for building a wardrobe, too: instead of buying a completely new outfit, look for statement layers that make the basics you already own feel new.
