Cannot believe we had this place all to ourselves 🤯 📍Great Wall of China 🌅 Watching the sunrise over the Great Wall of China is one of those bucket-list experiences that will stay with us as long as we live. It was without a doubt one of our favorite moments during our month-long trip to China. It was truly breathtaking to see the early morning golden light hit the mountains and illuminate the ancient wall as it stretched far beyond the horizon. Some amazing facts about the Great Wall of China… 🏯 The Great Wall isn’t actually one continuous wall, it’s a vast network of fortifications built and rebuilt by different dynasties over more than 2,000 years. The Ming-era sections most visitors see today were constructed over centuries, with construction beginning in the 1300s and continuing into the 1600s. 😱 And the scale is almost impossible to comprehend: when all known sections and branches are counted, the Great Wall stretches for more than 13,000 miles (21,000 km) across China meaning it could wrap half way around the entire planet!  🌄 Standing on top of it at sunrise, surrounded by mountains and watching the wall disappear into the distance, is an experience you need to add to your bucket list!  ❤️ Send this to someone you’d like to visit China with! #chinatravel #greatwallofchina #greatwall #bucketlisttravel #china
