New York Mets’ playoff hopes unravel as injuries and a historic losing streak cripple their 2026 campaign.

Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor miss a combined 100+ games, leading to a 12-game losing run that puts the Mets in a hole they can't escape.

Can the reigning stars bounce back and restore the Mets' winning ways next season?

Ryan Finkelstein breaks down the five biggest reasons behind New York’s downfall, highlighting Clay Holmes’ season-ending injury, Freddy Peralta’s struggles on the mound, and the delayed dismissal of Carlos Mendoza.

Key insights include missed opportunities from front office decisions, the impact of player absences on the lineup, and a glimpse into the future under new manager Andy Green.
