AI just gained another infrastructure layer.

Not intelligence.

Control.

Yesterday NVIDIA launched its Open Agent Safety Platform.

OpenShell creates enforceable boundaries around AI agents.

Sentry sits outside the agent at the hardware level, watches what it does and can quarantine it in milliseconds when it crosses those boundaries. 

That architecture matters.

The machine does not supervise itself.

Something outside the machine does.

Meanwhile the compute race keeps accelerating.

Megaport announced roughly $687 million in new AI infrastructure contracts.

Meta secured additional GPU capacity across Southeast Asia.

Cerebras is supplying infrastructure eventually consuming around 100 megawatts for high speed AI inference. 

Different stories.

Same transition.

AI is becoming infrastructure.

And as agents gain permission to access software, money, data and machines, security becomes infrastructure too.

The emerging stack:

Model.

Agent.

Runtime.

Control plane.

We spent years asking how intelligent AI could become.

The next market forms around a harder question.

How much authority can we safely give it?
