There are many paths to God.✨ Islam honored him as a prophet. Some Buddhists interpreted him as a Buddha or enlightened teacher. Eastern teachers spoke of “Christ consciousness.” And in the Krishna tradition as this speaker encountered it, Jesus was understood as an incarnation of the Godhead for his particular age. In that framework, Jesus was not rejected as false. He could be seen as a divine figure appearing at a specific moment in history, for a specific people, while still existing within a larger spiritual reality that included Krishna and other manifestations of God. But then the speaker encountered Jesus’ own words: “I am the way, the truth and the life.” That was the contradiction that changed everything for him. The other traditions gave Jesus credit by calling him one of the ways. But Jesus did not return the credit. He did not describe himself as one teacher among many or one incarnation among several. He pointed only to himself. For this speaker, faith began not with blind belief, but with a process of elimination: they all included Jesus, while Jesus excluded every other path. Does that reasoning make Jesus’ claim more convincing, or does it oversimplify how different religions understand God? #Jesus #Christianity #Muslim #Krishna #Buddhism
