Four years ago, we brought 18 students together to make a game. This year, we are welcoming 100.

What started as a small university game jam has grown every year—from 18 students in the first year, to 75 last year, and now to an ambitious new chapter spanning two universities with distinct game development programs.
On October 1st, we’ll kick off our next Respawn Game Jam, inviting students from University of Wisconsin-Madison and Madison College to take on a shared challenge: 

Build a game in 7 days.

Mixing Computer Science and Art disciplines builds diverse, cross-functional teams that mirror real-world game development.

At Respawn and EA, we believe play unlocks potential. It's how we connect, create, and imagine what's possible. That’s why we’re helping young people develop next-gen skills through play-based learning in and beyond the game to shape their own futures.

Over the last four years, we have watched returning participants grow and develop by learning in a hands-on environment. Providing direct industry mentorship and teamwork, we are proud to support these emerging developers as they build their skills and inspire the next generation of creators in Wisconsin.
