## Caption

New 60 Minutes contributor Gianna Toboni says she's drawn to "stories that challenge us to hear and understand the other side." One is the death penalty, which she has spent a decade covering — and which made headlines this past week after a failed execution attempt in Tennessee. "How much compassion do we owe people who commit the most horrific crimes? What is cruel and unusual punishment? There isn't always an easy answer," says Toboni. #journalism #60minutes
