Landon Gibson Lands Ride with Triumph Racing 📝

The 5.11 Triumph Racing Factory Team has not wasted any time announcing new riders for the 2027 season. Aaron Plessinger’s contract with the British brand was announced on Wednesday, and this afternoon, the brand also announced the addition of 2026 Nicky Hayden AMA Motocross Horizon Award winner Landon Gibson.

With the shutdown of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna SMX team, the Georgia native Gibson was left without a ride for next year. Enter Triumph, located in Georgia.
He will debut on his #23 Triumph TF 250-X at this weekend’s MotoPlayground Race at Ponca City.
The release states Gibson will race the SMX Next program in 2027, but we could see him race SMX Next - Supercross and then the full Pro Motocross season (following what Deacon Denno did this year). When Gibson does race pro in ‘27, he will would be #88—the national number he earned.

Gibson said in the team press release:
“I’m so grateful for this opportunity that I have been given, thank you to everyone that has put this together for me. It’s time to have fun and do work.”
Said Jeremy, Coker General Manager for Triumph Racing America:

“I’m extremely excited to have Landon join our program. Anytime you have the opportunity to bring in a highly talented racer—especially a Horizon Award winner—it’s a great addition to the program. Landon has a tremendous amount of potential, and I’m really looking forward to watching him develop and progress through our amateur program and into SMX Next.”
