## Caption

One of the most common comments we get online is, “Why don’t you ever talk about where the bones came from?” Which is always a little funny—because that’s quite literally one of the main reasons The Bone Museum exists. For centuries, medical students were expected to purchase real human skeletons as part of their education, creating an enormous global trade in human remains whose history is still being researched today. Our team works to better understand the provenance of these collections, presents research at academic conferences, and advocates for greater transparency, responsible stewardship, and public access to this history. #bonetok #learnontiktok #learnontiktok #learnontiktokcontest
