How important is it to "separate the art from the artist"? I ask because...I have no idea how to feel about my relationship with Tesla and the future of self driving.

Let's start with the facts. I lease a Model Y (used to own one, but the economics just aren't good for owning an EV, so I sold my old one and went to a lease). For the price, it's a great car. But most importantly, the FSD has become EXTRAORDINARY. Like, it is a significantly better driver than I am, even when I'm focused.

I truly believe in the future being self-driving. I think FSD on a Tesla is already safer for my daughters than me driving them, AND in the future I'll feel less bed about working/texting etc while I'm en route to work (sorry but...I really want to be able to text and drive!). I can also picture a world in like 5 years where we don't need to own a car and just Waymo everywhere. For now, the Model Y is the best option.

Counterpoint: I really don't like El*n. Not even just from a political perspective. Like, I think he screwed over too many people at Twitter, and when it comes to payments and paying people for their work (including yours truly)....IYKYK. It sucks to feel like you're "supporting" someone you don't respect.

But when my lease is up in December, and no car is at the same level of FSD, I have no idea what to do. Some will say "you're a bad guy from driving an elonmobile, tough it out and actually focus on the road" and others will say "you can hate him but still drive the car he makes, it's the second most popular car in the world for a reason".

How do YOU see it?
