Just to clarify. 

Being fit and lean is not vain. It  was my warped mindset behind that being fit means being thin and focusing only on weight loss for sheer aesthetic goals. 

Actually years later, I realize an aesthetic goal is inherently not problematic, it’s the general understanding of it and the associated harm attached to it both mentally & physically. 

Moving towards strength goals has definitely played a much healthier role. Although it couldn’t have happened without some vanity in mind.
