Mate. You’re recruiting a human, not ordering one off Temu. 😂

Last night was my first Recruitment Clinic live. Thank you to everyone who joined and listened to me get a few things off my chest.

This was a big one: some of your job offers need work.

“Busy shop. Great opportunity. DM for details.”

Why are the details a fucking secret? It’s a job, not a government contract.

Tell people the money. The hours. The actual deal. Show them how they can progress. Mention the parking, flexibility, training and perks. Things that make a difference when you’ve got bills and a life outside cutting hair.

And please stop hunting for a unicorn who arrives fully booked, never wants a holiday and somehow brings more customers than your entire marketing strategy.

People have options in their pockets. Barber at breakfast, educator by lunch, business consultant by dinner. Apparently all you need now is a ring light and the word “academy” in your bio. 🙃

You don’t have to love it. But you do have to understand what your offer is competing with.

A good shop can still be an incredible place to build a career. Community. Support. Stability. People who help you get better.

Put THAT in the advert. Then deliver it.
