It’s official — Assembly Bill 2011 (Hart) is law!

AB 2011 protects Californians' access to equitable behavioral health care by codifying federal parity rules into state law. These rules guarantee strong, enforceable behavioral health parity protections here in California, even if federal enforcement falters.

Mental health parity makes lifesaving mental health and substance use care possible for millions of Californians, and this law is a critical step toward protecting that right. It wouldn't have been possible without asmgregghart and our co-sponsors: Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara and the cadepartmentofinsurance, The Kennedy Forum, the California State Association of Psychiatrists, and infocalacap.
