As we celebrate our 25th year in business at ds_moments it’s a full-circle moment to return for this honor, and to do it with brandon.rochelle. It says something profound about the experiences we had at Webb. 

At Designsensory, our campaign slogan for this year is “Built for What’s Next.” Yet stepping back into my years here, I find myself asking, “What brought us here?”

Our small class of 1999 had unique range. Everyone brought their own passions, talents, and personalities to this place. Being among them meant wanting to give as good as I got, and to earn my place amidst the best and brightest.

I remember our brilliant teachers, steadfast in cultivating curiosity and teaching us how to learn and think. They were uncompromising in their standards, and that taught me the value of intellectual integrity. Not simply to achieve excellence, but to be defined by the commitment to it, even when no one is looking.

Something happens to young adults when you hold them to that standard. It sparks a deeper sense of purpose. It builds resilience and, yes, leadership; the desire to push beyond what’s known and make what’s next possible. That is what brought us here, in both directions. It carried us out of these halls and into a career, and it carried us back now. 

Yes, twenty-five years in, we call it “Built for What’s Next.” Perhaps, Webb said it first with their motto: Leaders, Not Ordinary People.
