American luxury brand Fear of God was established in 2013 by designer Jerry Lorenzo. The self-taught designer founded the label and its sub-label Fear of God Essentials out of Los Angeles. Fear of God is inspired by Lorenzo’s outspoken faith, which plays a significant role in his work. Fear of God is inspired by California basketball culture and 90s grunge music, both heavily prevalent in Lorenzo’s childhood. Fear of God offers a selection of timeless, wearable menswear garments along with footwear such as loafers crafted in Italy. The contemporary streetwear label provides top-quality materials like cashmere and premium suede while paying homage to a sophisticated combination of elevated materials with fine craftsmanship. Fear of God has crafted a selection of comfortable yet elevated apparel, such as sweatshorts, hoodies, sweatpants, t-shirts, track pants, bomber jackets, and more. Iconic collaborations have been done with brands including adidas, Comme des Garçons, Dolce & Gabbana, New Era, and Nike.
