## Caption

On a lazy Saturday afternoon in late August 2021, the Yankees' 12th round selection out of Dartmouth that year went yard off the flag poles in deep center field for the first time in his professional career in front of about 400 Tarpons fans. 422 ft and 106 MPH off the bat. I had to scramble out of the way because I was standing underneath the flag poles. The ball ricocheted off a flag pole and bounced off the perimeter sidewalk and into the swamp behind GMS Field.

Last night in the Bronx, that 12th round pick went 4-for-5 with a double, a solo HR and a grand slam in front of a raucous 48,437 fans in Game 1 of the 2026 AL Wild Card.
