Valentino unveiled its Spring/Summer 2027 collection at the Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève in Paris. Titled “Antilibrary,” the collection takes its name from the term for the unread books in one’s own library. The brand also invited guests to bring a book to the show, which will be donated to selected public libraries in Paris and other cities.

Creative director Alessandro Michele sees the value of an “antilibrary” in what remains unknown—a tangible reminder that the world will always exceed our grasp. The show itself functions as an antilibrary: these clothes may appear only once, or become part of our wardrobes, but their worth lies beyond use. They exist in a realm that transcends function and consumption, becoming a vault of possibility. This season, bold colours are imaginatively styled: a green-and-white checked shirt tucked into a transparent beaded skirt; a casual cap worn with suits, coats, or beaded dresses; oversized bows transcending decoration to become focal points at the chest and waist. Silhouettes, materials, and colours collide in unexpected ways, expanding the very idea of dressing.
