Story Book 1132: Day 62 - Today’s self-learning wasn’t just about exploring Generative AI — it became a practical lesson in cloud operations, IAM, APIs, and enterprise security. #OperationSelfLearnings

While working hands-on with Google Cloud and preparing a sandbox for Vertex AI/Gemini experimentation, I ran into a simple-looking error: the required API could not be enabled.

Instead of treating it as just a UI issue, I followed the dependency chain:

Identity → Project → IAM permissions → API enablement → AI service

The key learning was simple but important: authentication does not equal authorization. Being able to access a Google Cloud project does not necessarily mean you have permission to inspect IAM policies, enable APIs, or consume services.
