Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Illinois, spoke from a protest at the site of President Trump’s planned arch on Thursday, slamming the project as a “personal vanity project” that “desecrates” the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery.

Duckworth also questioned the administration’s explanation as to why the arch is necessary for national security. “There’s going to be an arch with drones, it’s going to have snipers and ammunition stored on there, and tourists going through. It doesn’t even make sense.” #nbc10philly
