Introducing our new series, Museum Monday!

Each Monday, we will share part of what makes Sheldon Swope Art Museum unique. For 84 years we have provided quality American art for our community, and we want to share insight into our museum.

Today, we introduce you to our founder, Michael Sheldon Swope. Born in Indiana in 1843, he was a visionary that took an unconventional path to opening a gallery.

Learn more about that path next Monday!
