🔊 The Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT didn’t just make noise, it unleashed a naturally aspirated V12 scream that defined an era of GT1 racing.

Developed with Reiter Engineering, the R-GT transformed the road-going Murciélago into a rear-wheel-drive race car built for international GT competition.

Its 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 produced around 580 horsepower and sent power through a six-speed sequential gearbox.

At roughly 1,100 kg, the R-GT was dramatically lighter and more focused than the road car, with extensive aerodynamic and chassis changes for racing.

The car competed internationally in Europe, North America and Asia, and Lamborghini later described the R-GT’s high-pitched exhaust note as one of the unforgettable sounds of the era.
