😭 When you have Premier League money, a Ferrari or Lamborghini seems like the obvious choice, but Joško Gvardiol went straight for one of Mitsubishi’s greatest rally-bred machines.

The Manchester City defender has been spotted leaving training in a red Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition, complete with the iconic rally-inspired graphics and white Enkei wheels.

The TME was created to celebrate Tommi Mäkinen’s four consecutive WRC Drivers’ Championships with Mitsubishi and became one of the most desirable versions of the Evo ever built.

Compared with the regular Evo VI, Mitsubishi gave it more aggressive tarmac-focused suspension tuning, quicker steering, revised aero and a more responsive turbo setup while retaining the legendary turbocharged 4G63 and all-wheel-drive formula.

What’s even crazier is that the car is roughly 25 years old and is actually older than Gvardiol himself.

While plenty of Premier League players arrive at training in modern Ferraris, Lamborghinis and McLarens, Gvardiol showing up in an old-school Japanese rally icon is considerably more interesting.

And judging by the footage, this isn’t just something sitting untouched in a collection either, because he’s actually out driving it.
