🤯 Bugatti Rimac CEO Mate Rimac’s dream project isn’t another multimillion-dollar hypercar, it’s a properly built BMW E30 restomod with a V10 stuffed under the hood.

Rimac first revealed the idea in 2025, saying he wants to create a “proper” E30 restomod that goes beyond the powertrain and rethinks the design as well.

Now he has come face-to-face with a real-world version of that formula, an E30 powered by BMW’s naturally aspirated 5.0-liter S85 V10 from the E60-generation M5.

The swap packages one of BMW M’s most iconic high-revving engines into the compact, lightweight E30 chassis, complete with a custom intake and roll cage.

There is some history behind the obsession too, because Rimac’s own automotive story began with an E30 that he eventually converted to electric power after its original engine failed.

Despite building cutting-edge electric hypercars and overseeing Bugatti, his ultimate personal E30 idea goes in almost the opposite direction: old-school chassis, naturally aspirated V10 and maximum mechanical character.
