OLD or NEW❓🏁 The BMW 3 Series just entered its eighth generation, and the jump from the G20 to the new G50 is far more than a facelift.

The familiar M340i xDrive is replaced by the M350 xDrive, whose 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six and 48V mild-hybrid system produce 437 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque, with BMW quoting 0–60 mph in 4.1 seconds.

BMW has completely reworked the styling around its Neue Klasse design language, bringing a much slimmer interpretation of the kidney grille, dramatically different lighting signatures, flush door handles, and cleaner body surfacing.

Inside is arguably the biggest transformation, with BMW Panoramic Vision stretching information across the base of the windshield, a new 17.9-inch central display, Operating System X, and a radically redesigned steering wheel.

The G50 is also slightly larger than the outgoing G20, with the M350 xDrive measuring 187.2 inches long and riding on a 112.6-inch wheelbase.

For enthusiasts, one of the wildest additions is Drift Moment, which can send the M350’s power exclusively to the rear wheels despite its standard xDrive system.

BMW is also expanding the 3 Series family with the Neue Klasse-based electric i3, while gasoline-powered 330 and M350 models continue alongside it when the new lineup reaches the U.S. in early 2027.
