In the Aaron Boone era (2018-present), the Yankees have routinely embarrassed themselves in the postseason. Put the ball in play, put the pressure on the Yankees and they will self-destruct. Tonight was no exception. The Rays take advantage of four Yankee errors and roll to a 5-2 win to take a 2-0 series lead in this best-of-five ALDS.

2022 vs Houston: Lose Games 1 and 2, return to NY down 2-0

2024 vs LA: Lose Games 1 and 2, return to NY down 2-0

2025 vs Toronto: Lose Games 1 and 2, return to NY down 2-0

2026 vs Tampa Bay: Lose Games 1 and 2, return to NY down 2-0

With their backs against the wall, the Yankees head home for a vital Game 3 on Wednesday night in the Bronx. They’ll look to hold the Rays off from being the fourth team to knock them out on their own field in the last five years.
