The Curry brothers grew up with one rule: no chores, no basketball.

Sonya Curry called her household “The Big Machine.”

Everyone had a part to play. If one part stopped working, the whole thing stopped.

That meant Stephen and Seth didn’t get to skip responsibility because basketball was waiting, not even when their father was already an NBA star.

But Sonya didn’t raise her sons exactly the same way.

Stephen needed consequences. Seth needed persistence. She learned how to push each child differently while keeping the same expectations underneath it all.

And their father, Dell Curry gave them something different. Not shortcuts through his NBA connections, but his presence. 

He coached both of his sons at different points in their youth and let them earn their own opportunities.

Two brothers. Same values. Very different paths.
