Her mother spent her retirement savings on rowing lessons.

🛶 Oksana Masters | Paralympic Sport | 19× Paralympic Medalist

Oksana Masters came home from Ukraine at seven, carrying a body that had already endured more than most people could imagine.

Her mother, Gay, was there through the surgeries, the amputations, and the years of helping her daughter discover what her body could still do.

Then she kept suggesting adaptive rowing.

Oksana resisted.

Until she finally got in the boat and discovered something she hadn’t expected: control.

Her mother believed in that possibility before there was a medal, a podium, or any proof that rowing would become a career.

She even used her own retirement savings to make sure money wouldn’t be the reason Oksana had to stop.

Today, Oksana is the most decorated Winter Paralympian in U.S. history.

Sometimes belief isn’t about knowing your child will succeed. It’s about being willing to invest before anyone can promise you they will.

⁉️ What would you keep investing in if you had no guarantee it would work? ⁉️

👩‍🔬 I spent years decoding what elite athlete parents actually did. The uncomfortable truth about how champions are really made.

🏘️🌴 It takes a strategic village to raise an athlete. This is your village. 🥇
