"Many of the ideas once discussed on Singularity stages as future possibilities are now our reality."

At the Singularity South Africa Summit 2026 Media Launch, Mic Mann reflected on the remarkable accuracy of futurist Ray Kurzweil's predictions.

Three decades ago, concepts like AI assistants, wearable computing, real-time language translation, autonomous vehicles, and exponential computing sounded like science fiction.
Today, they are part of everyday life.

Now the conversation is shifting once again.
With predictions that Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) could emerge within the next few years, leaders, organisations, and societies face an important question:

Are we prepared for what comes next?

The future has a habit of arriving faster than expected.
