We had an amazing night at @dsmperforming ‘s lowa High School Musical Theatre Awards last night! We had several students appear onstage throughout the showcase!

Our four Triple Threats- Jack Andersen, Tilynne Cartmill, Paige Olson, and Greta Paulsen- appeared in the triple threat medley! These students received coaching, auditioned for scholarships, and learned a medley in under a week!

Our Outstanding Behind-The-Scenes award winners had a tech day last week where they learned from industry professionals and worked on networking skills. They were also featured with a moment onstage last night. These students were Jack Andersen, Jonahs Custer, Miles Cue, and Frank Morris (Grace Fisher and Jenna Le did not attend).

Two of our leads, Jack Andersen and Paige Olson were selected to perform “A Cautionary Tale” from Mean Girls in a spotlight medley. Only 35 out of 163 Outstanding Principal roles were given this honor

Sydney LePorte and Frank Morris were also featured during the finale medley. These students had less than a week to learn the medley from broadway professionals!

Congrats to everyone! We can’t wait for next year!

P.S. Thank you to everyone who has interacted with this account over the past three years, I have LOVED getting to work with you all and build our publicity from the ground up. Thank you for your support and engagement with our account! Since this is my last post, I am officially “signing off”. 🩷
Sincerely,
Jack Andersen (Northwest Theatre Arts Head Publicity Designer ‘21-‘24)
