Here we go! Join us as we explore Detroit like it’s Mario Kart! 🏁⭐🍄 You all showed our first Mario Kart ride on Detroit’s Rainbow Road so much love and we had so much fun making it that we knew we had to do a Part 2. This time we’re taking the race to the Dequindre Cut to highlight another one of Detroit’s amazing trails and greenways! 🚲🌿 Opened in 2009, the Dequindre Cut is a nearly two-mile greenway built along a former Grand Trunk Railroad line. The mostly below-street-level trail connects @Eastern Market Detroit to the @Detroit Riverfront, with a 20-foot-wide paved path and separate lanes for people walking and biking. 🏙️🚲 One of the Cut’s most recognizable features is the art. Dozens of original murals and preserved graffiti line the walls and underpasses along the trail, making the former rail corridor one of Detroit’s most unique places to experience public art while exploring the city. 🎨⭐ The Dequindre Cut is also part of the broader 27.5-mile Joe Louis Greenway, connecting into a growing network of trails through Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park and Dearborn. Riders can follow the Cut straight to the Detroit Riverwalk and keep exploring even more of the city from there. 🌳🚲 And for this race, we opened the ride up to anyone who wanted to dress up and join us! BMX/MTB rider and athlete advocate Cory Coffey joined the crew as Peach, her daughters suited up as Toads, and a whole group of guest characters came out to join us and ride the Dequindre Cut and experience Detroit together. 🍄🏁 Which Detroit trail should we race next? 👀 Send this to the Mario Kart lover in your life and we’ll see you on the Cut! 🔴 Mario: @Colin313 👑 Peach: @misscorycoffey 🟢 Luigi: @carlos_parisi 🐢🔥 Bowser: @threeonethird 🌼 Daisy: Lauren 🐢 Yoshi: @hcoffman3 🍄 Toads: Cory’s daughters ⭐ Guest characters: Everyone who came out and joined the ride! 👾 Drone by @rebeccajaneblanton #VisitDetroit #DequindreCut #DetroitRiverfront
