This Hispanic Heritage Month, we are celebrating the artists and educators who bring generations of cultural tradition, professional experience, and artistry into the studios at Joffrey Ballet School.

Pre-Professional Trainee Program faculty member JoDe Romano joderomano has dedicated decades of her career to Spanish dance and Flamenco, living, studying, and performing internationally throughout Spain, Japan, and the United States. Her extensive career spans professional performance, Broadway, choreography, dance education, and appearances on some of New York City’s most recognized stages.

As a member of our Pre-Professional Trainee Program faculty, JoDe shares that experience directly with our dancers, introducing them to the technique, musicality, expression, and cultural foundations behind Spanish dance. Learning from faculty with such diverse professional and artistic backgrounds is an important part of the Joffrey training experience, encouraging our Trainees to expand their knowledge and grow as versatile, thoughtful artists.

We are proud to have JoDe as part of our Joffrey Ballet School community and to celebrate the cultural traditions and experiences she continues to share with our dancers.
