“To #BeABluejay means living out Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, doing all things for the greater glory of God by growing both spiritually and academically. Through Creighton’s Jesuit tradition and programs like Global Scholars, I am challenged to view my education through a communal lens, serving others across the globe as an active global citizen before I graduate.”

Heider College of Business junior Ellie Cave wanted a global college experience—and fortunately, opportunity at Creighton is far-reaching. Its Global Scholars program has allowed her to study abroad four times in the first two years of college. “Even though I have spent much of my time as a Bluejay away from campus, each return comes with a warm welcome that makes it easy to call Creighton my home.”

She has been blown away by the many opportunities Creighton students have to get involved. “I didn’t have to wait until I had a degree to start making a difference in the world or embark on my professional journey,” she says, adding that Creighton “ensures that each student leaves campus not only ready to enter the workforce but equipped with real-world experience and a mindset for transformation.”

As Ellie prepares to enter law school and pursue a career in trade policy, she’s grateful for her formative Creighton experience. “Ultimately, my time here is shaping me into a compassionate leader, an inquisitive professional and a dedicated advocate who strives to set the world on fire rather than just pass through it.”
