PASSING THE TORCH🕯️

I wish I could have had this conversation with him. Rob, I now carry the responsibility of representing the same community you once did — Etobicoke North.

Rob Ford spoke relentlessly about respect for taxpayers and built a powerful political identity around that message.

There are parts of that legacy I want to carry forward — and parts I want to build upon in my own way.

● For me, “Respect for Taxpayers” becomes “Bow to the Taxpayers.”

Not literally. It means remembering who holds the power in a democracy: the people.

Working families. Seniors. Small businesses. People watching every dollar while government spends theirs.

Public office is not a throne like Saudi Arabia

My commitment is to put accountability, affordability and service to residents at the centre of how I approach City Hall.

Rob, I never got the chance to receive the torch from you.

Rob Ford is gone, so this photograph could never exist. But the idea behind it is real.
So AI imagined the moment.
