Some memories stay with you. ❤️

Years ago, during my GarfieldEATS Toronto venture journey, I received an incredible collection of Garfield memorabilia and merchandise from 20th Century Fox in Burbank. Instead of keeping it, I decided those cartoons could do something much bigger.

We auctioned and raffled the entire Garfield memorabilia, with all proceeds supporting SickKids Foundation.

I’ve always believed cartoons should make kids smile—but if they can also help kids when they need it most, that’s something special.

Today, standing outside SickKids brought that memory back.

For the kids. Always. 🧡🐱

And that continues with my ALIGN movement: my Bio-Harmony vision means building healthier neighbourhoods where children have beautiful, safe spaces to play, grow and connect with nature.

But I especially want to fight for mothers and affordable childcare.

Toronto’s participating $10-a-day childcare program is still capped at as much as $22 per day today. Meanwhile, Norway caps childcare nationally at about C$165 a month, with some communities around C$95 a month—and some at $0.

Why shouldn’t Canadian mothers expect us to aim higher?

Mothers are already juggling groceries, rent, bills, work and raising their children. Childcare shouldn’t become another financial battle.

And before City Hall says there’s no money, audit the waste. Toronto’s Auditor General identified almost $11 million in costs associated with unused or underused software licences and subscriptions in just one audit. Imagine redirecting savings from waste like that toward priorities that actually help families.

Listen to the mothers. Support the families. Build for the kids.
