#JaRule dropped “PAIN IS LOVE” 25 years ago today 🧨

The album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart and was supported by 3 HUGE singles: “Livin’ It Up”, “Always On Time” and “Down Ass Bitch”.

“Pain Is Love” sold 361,000 copies in its first week and even received a Grammy nomination for “Best Rap Album” in 2002.

The album went on to be certified 3x Platinum to mark sales of over 3 million copies in the USA alone. This certification was issued on April 4th 2002 and the album hasn’t been certified since despite being streamed over 1.1 billion times on Spotify alone (this is anywhere between 750,000 and 1,100,000 sales equivalents).

If the album were to be re-certified today, how many units do you think the album would’ve sold?

Do you agree that this album is Ja’s greatest album (many would argue it’s Rule 3:36 or Veni Vetti Vicci). Also, what’s your favorite joint off of Ja’s classic?
