Everybody wants a big rental portfolio… until they realize what comes with it.

More doors can mean more cash flow and more equity but as @luther3re points out it can also mean more repairs, more tenant issues, more vacancies, more debt, and more things demanding your attention.

The goal shouldn’t just be to own the most properties.

The goal is to build a portfolio that actually gives you freedom.

I’d rather own fewer great assets with strong cash flow, good management, and plenty of margin than 50 doors that have me working another full-time job.

Real estate can create wealth.

But if you build it wrong, you can own the portfolio and the portfolio can still own you.
