Dating is hard enough without the internet turning every casual date into a relationship headline. In a recent interview, Olivia Rodrigo (oliviarodrigo) opened up about why she thinks dating can be “so hard and kind of sad”, especially when photos from private moments are shared online. The 23-year-old singer also clarified that she’s single.

The comments come after Rodrigo was photographed with a New York private equity associate over the summer. She spoke about how invasive it feels to be photographed outside her home and then have those images used to judge her. “I know who I am, and I know what my values are,” she said, adding that she wishes she could simply be 23 and experience life normally.
