🍊 Cellulite, fat pockets & fascia: what dimpled skin may be telling you

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), cellulite is traditionally associated with phlegm and dampness, along with qi and blood stagnation. Tight-feeling fascia may also contribute to a dimpled appearance, while dermatology research points to fibrous septae that tether the skin.

TCM traditionally maps the legs through four channels:

• **Stomach:** front thigh
• **Gallbladder:** outer thigh
• **Bladder:** back of thigh
• **Spleen:** inner thigh

Commonly associated points include **GB34, SP9, ST40, GB31, and BL40**. These are traditional associations—not proven cellulite treatments.

With quantum cupping, **gentle, gliding suction** is used to lift and mobilize tissue. It may support local circulation, lymphatic movement, and the appearance of dimpling, though clinical evidence remains limited.

Many practitioners begin by clearing proximal pathways toward the inguinal nodes, then glide from knee to hip. Pressure should remain light and be performed by a qualified practitioner. Cupping may cause temporary marks or bruising and should not be used over broken, irritated, or inflamed skin.
