✨ Hope for the future of Vietnam’s Silver-backed Chevrotain! 🇻🇳

Since the rediscovery of this species in 2019, researcher Quy Tấn Lê has taken a leading role in conservation efforts to ensure it is never lost again. Learn more about this work ➡️ link in bio.

The world’s first Silver-backed Chevrotain Conservation Breeding Program is working to restore this species on the brink. The goal is to establish a sustainable population of Silver-backed Chevrotains to help restore and safeguard this species after it was nearly wiped out by habitat destruction and illegal hunting with traps.

🟢 This collaborative initiative is led by the Southern Institute of Ecology, Institute of Advanced Technology, Nui Chua-Phuoc Binh National Park, and Re:wild—with funding from the Federal Working Group for Small Mammals, @bdz_ev, @zoowroclaw, and the Zoological Society for Species and Population Conservation.
