🌀ON THIS DAY: A tropical depression near the Yucatán Peninsula was upgraded to Tropical Storm Michael on Oct. 7, 2018. In a just a few days, Michael intensified into a monster Category 5 hurricane before making landfall on Oct. 10, in the Florida Panhandle.
