A brain scan can reveal clues about what the brain has been through.

When I review a SPECT scan, I’m looking for three things: areas with healthy activity, areas with too little activity, and areas with too much activity.

At Amen Clinics, SPECT imaging is one part of a comprehensive evaluation. Our approach looks at the whole person—not just a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. This evaluation includes a detailed clinical history, brain SPECT imaging, cognitive testing, and additional assessments to better understand the biological, psychological, social, and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to symptoms.
From there, we use the information gathered throughout the evaluation to develop a personalized treatment plan designed around the individual and their brain.
