Nepal Celebrates Kukur Tihar — A Special Festival Dedicated To Dogs 🐶🇳🇵

During Kukur Tihar, dogs are honoured for their loyalty, companionship and protective nature. They are traditionally bathed, decorated with marigold garlands and red tika, and offered special meals as a mark of gratitude and respect.

The celebration is part of Nepal’s Tihar festival and beautifully highlights the bond between humans and animals — a tradition where love and appreciation take centre stage.

A festival dedicated to thanking dogs for their loyalty — isn’t that one of the most heartwarming traditions in the world?
